The French forward was snapped up by the Magpies over the summer on a season-long agreement from Queens Park Rangers.

A proven marksman at the highest level, Remy has plundered eight goals during a productive spell on Tyneside to put himself firmly in the shop window.

His deal with Newcastle does not include a clause for a permanent transfer, with Pardew having already conceded that any efforts to bring him on board full-time would be 'complicated'.

They will, however, have to move quickly if they are to fend off mounting interest from afar, with clubs across Europe said to have Remy firmly in their sights.

Pardew, though, is aware that the issue is likely to run and run and will only discuss his plans for the forward when the time is right - which could be towards the end of the season, if comments from Remy's agent are anything to go by.

"I think Loic is going to be an ongoing thing," Pardew said in the Northern Echo.

"We are probably going to be talking about that for a long, long time. I don't want to start it now."

While his future remains a subject of intense speculation, Remy remains focused on his efforts to help Newcastle build on a run of three straight wins and fire themselves back into European contention.

He said: "For the moment, we just carry on and play good.

"We go game after game and we'll try to win a lot of games. At the end of the season, we can maybe do the Champions League.

"At the moment, we are not focused on that. But we know we have the quality and that we can do it. I am not surprised by the quality of this team."

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
