The 21-year-old has been with the Magpies for almost a year after signing from French side Nancy.

Injury and fitness issues have restricted Haidara to just two Premier League starts for Newcastle, but he has thanked his French team-mates for helping him to settle.

"It's great to have senior players from your own country around you," he said in the Chronicle.

"To be in the same dressing room as Yohan Cabaye, Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has been a big help to me.

"They have helped me settle in England.

"It is difficult when a player comes to England at first but, thanks to the players and the support of the fans, I am enjoying life at the club."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.
