Pardew spent four years as a player at Palace from 1987-91, helping the Eagles gain promotion to the old First Division in 1989 before featuring in the FA Cup final and replay to Manchester United the year afterwards.

Following the recent headbutt incident with David Meyler, there has been speculation Pardew could leave the Magpies, with former club Palace seen as a destination.

But Pulis has dismissed such talk, telling the London Evening Standard: "That is really disrespectful to Newcastle. Alan is the manager of Newcastle Football Club and has a number of years remaining on his contract."

Instead Pulis is focused on getting a result on Saturday, believing his side need to be more ruthless in front of goal, despite missing injured top scorer Marouane Chamakh, while fellow striker Dwight Gayle has also been ruled out.

Pulis added: "Everybody understands where we are and that every game is a big game for us.

"We can't get ahead of ourselves. The players have performed consistently well over a period of time and we have got to continue that. What we have got to do is be a bit more ruthless in front of goal when we get chances.

"The great thing with Crystal Palace is that the expectations are not as great as some of the other clubs who have been in the Premier League for a long time. Everyone has marked us down as favourites to get relegated and finish bottom of the table, so the expectations are not as great as others."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
