Gosling is out of contract at St James' Park this summer and Bournemouth have moved to lure him to Dean Court.
A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Gosling, but Bournemouth have been long-term admirers of the 24-year-old and are set to clinch his signature.
Gosling joined Newcastle on a free transfer from Everton in July 2010 but has made just five Premier League starts, with a further 19 appearances from the bench due to a series of injury problems.
The skilful midfielder impressed during a loan spell at Blackpool earlier this season and his signing would be a coup for Bournemouth.
The former Plymouth youngster is expected to sign a four-year deal at Bournemouth with the move subject to a medical.
