Kevin de Bruyne: No longer features on Bayer Leverkusen's wish-list

De Bruyne caught the eye during his loan spell with Werder Bremen last season, with Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund chasing the 22-year-old's signature in the summer.

Upon his return to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho outlined his intentions to retain De Bruyne, while Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he will no longer pursue the attacker.

Despite their summer interest, Leverkusen have also withdrawn from the race to sign the Belgium international, with Voller insisting they are well-stocked in the midfield and attacking ranks.

"We have had an interest in Kevin de Bruyne, of course, he told BILD. "He is an excellent player.

"But at this point in time, we do not have an interest in his services. We have a strong squad and already have enough quality players in de Bruyne's position."

De Bruyne has made two Premier League appearances for Chelsea so far this term as well as featuring in the Capital One Cup clash against Swindon last month.

The attacking midfielder joined Chelsea from Belgian Pro League side Racing Genk in 2012 but is yet to establish himself as a first-team regular.

heyremind me of Utd's treble winning side. Swashbuckling and risk prone. We ha Jaap Stam to paper over the cracks at the back though. Not sure they have their Jaap yet.

he solution is to not feel sorry for any of Jabba, Gold or Sullivan. They're all deeply unpleasant and all deserve each other. If only West Ham would sign Barton and Suarez then no one would ever need to despise any other club.
