Pardew: No offers for Cisse

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew says he knows nothing about a possible bid for striker Papiss Cisse from an unnamed Qatari side.

Papiss Cisse has been linked with a move to Qatar

Cisse, a Senegal international, joined Newcastle from Freiburg for £9m in January 2012 and was a huge success initially.

The 28-year-old scored 13 goals in his first 14 games for the Magpies and banged in another 13 last season.

However, he has slipped down the pecking order this term, following the arrival of French forward Loic Remy on loan from QPR.

And it has been reported that Cisse could be set for a lucrative switch to Qatar this month.

But, when asked if such a move was in the offing, Pardew said: "Not that I'm aware of, no.

"I can't confirm any bid from any club."

Cisse started on the bench again for Newcastle's 2-0 home loss to Manchester City on Sunday, coming on for the final 17 minutes plus stoppage-time.
