Danny Rose: Happy to get Spurs chance

Rose, 23, has been promoted into the first team by Andre Villas-Boas this season along with Andros Townsend, after both impressed last season in loan spells at Sunderland and QPR respectively.

With many in the game feeling English players are not given a chance, Rose feels Tottenham most definitely are.

"It's brilliant," Rose told the Tottenham Journal. "You see, with the likes of [Roberto] Soldado playing, that the club have broken the club record twice in this transfer window, which is really good - and it's great that the manager has put Andros in.

"He's had a great pre-season, he's probably been our stand-out player throughout pre-season.

"Then with myself, he [Villas-Boas] watched me a few times when I was out on loan last season, and he's noticed my hard work. Andros and I especially are over the moon that we've been given a chance."

heyremind me of Utd's treble winning side. Swashbuckling and risk prone. We ha Jaap Stam to paper over the cracks at the back though. Not sure they have their Jaap yet.

he solution is to not feel sorry for any of Jabba, Gold or Sullivan. They're all deeply unpleasant and all deserve each other. If only West Ham would sign Barton and Suarez then no one would ever need to despise any other club.
