James Collins: West Ham defender recalled by Wales manager Chris Coleman

Manager Chris Coleman has seen captain Ashley Williams pull out of the squad with an ankle injury and called 30-year-old Collins to the Vale of Glamorgan training complex on Wednesday.

Collins has been out of the international picture since allegedly refusing a call-up for a clash with Serbia in September, but Coleman insists the issue is now dead and buried.

Coleman said: "I was disappointed in James. I like James, he's a good man, but my job and how I see it and with the importance of players turning up for any Wales game - I didn't like that.

"I told James that on the phone. I wasn't happy that he wouldn't be considered as a stand-by to be called into the squad. My stance hasn't changed on that and it won't change. He got it wrong in my eyes."

Promising Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson, just 16, has also been added to the group having impressed during U17 games against Hungary, Scotland and Slovenia.

Adam Matthews, Ben Davies, Gareth Bale, Danny Gabbidon, Sam Ricketts, Jack Collison, Joe Allen, Shaun MacDonald and Joe Ledley are also unavailable to Coleman, whose side sit rock bottom of Group A.

Following the Macedonia clash at Cardiff City Stadium, Wales travel away for arguably the toughest fixture of their campaign - facing Belgium in Brussels on Tuesday.

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
