Julio Cesar: Says he would be happy to play Championship football with QPR next

The Brazil international only moved to Loftus Road from Inter Milan last summer but the club's relegation to the Championship has forced him to consider his options.

He is keen to keep playing at the highest level in order to secure his international place for next year's World Cup.

The London club are also keen to lower their wage bill meaning Cesar, as one of their higher earners, looks likely to be offloaded.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move back to Serie A while Arsenal have also been mentioned as a possible destination, though no move has yet to come to fruition.

With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching the former Flamengo star admits he is in talks over a transfer but would be happy to stay at QPR should those discussions break down.

"There are two weeks left before the window closes and nothing is certain yet," he told ESPN Brazil. "I am talking with some clubs but unfortunately we are not able to reach a common denominator.

"But I will decide my future and if I have to stay at QPR to play in the Championship, it won't be a problem."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
