Harry Redknapp: Targeting more recruits

Redknapp has already brought in Richard Dunne, Danny Simpson, Karl Henry, Gary O'Neil and Charlie Austin but still wants to strengthen his squad to help with Rangers' promotion push.

He said: "Everyone is working hard. We've moved a lot of players on, which was always going to be a tough job. We're still looking to strengthen.

"We're looking for the right type, but if we don't find them, then we've got some good young kids coming through.

"The dressing room is a good place to be around at the moment.

"We've been looking at a lot of options, but we're taking our time to get the right type of players."

Redknapp has moved Jose Bosingwa, Chris Samba, Djibril Cisse and Adel Taarabt out of the Loftus Road door but one player who looks like he may be staying is Joey Barton.

Barton has been linked with a return to Marseille but Redknapp has been delighted with the midfielder's contribution so far this season.

He added: "Joey Barton has been in great form - outstanding. He's a really good player. He's been top class. I couldn't be more pleased with him.

"The quality of his football has been outstanding - he can play, make no mistake about that."

lassic management. Build them up and then knock them back. Raise expectations and then dampen them. Create a dynamic where by you demand the most from your team, but where the team are given room to manoeuvre unexpected or unwanted results. Classy work by Van Gaal, he really reminds me a lot of me. A smart cookie, make no doubt.
