Hughton: Norwich are confident

Manager Chris Hughton hopes Norwich can continue to ride the wave of momentum of their unbeaten run for as long as possible.

A dramatic 4-3 success at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon ensured the Carrow Road club have now gone 10 games without losing in all competitions.

And Hughton thinks Norwich, who had been tipped to struggle this season, are now enjoying the rewards for their efforts.

He told Sky Sports: "That is just the momentum we are on.

"I think it is a little bit of fortune. We have had good periods this season where we have played well and that little bit of luck has not gone our way.

"It is normal in the season. There are highs and lows.

"At the moment, we have got a good balance, we are in confident mood and any team who can go away and score four goals - that is a fair feat."

Norwich were three goals in front at half-time against Swansea after Steven Whittaker, Sebastien Bassong, who reported an alleged racist gesture from the stands, and Grant Holt scored.

Michael Laudrup's Swansea came out fighting in the second half and Michu and Jonathan de Guzman set up a nervy finish.

But Robert Snodgrass' free-kick meant Michu's later header in injury time had little impact as the Canaries went on to win their first away game of the Premier League season.

Asked if it was the best he had seen Norwich play on their travels, Hughton said: "The scoreline at half-time is a fair reflection of that one. We had to soak up a fair bit of pressure.

"But that is the way they (Swansea) play and if you restrict them to minimal chances, you have done well."

air play to the lad. I'd like to think I 'd have no fear of heading off to the other side of the world to coach, but in truth, I don't have the cajones. Hopefully he can make a decent living out of it.

was reticent with this signing, bringing our outlay on left backs to £50m + a Nani loan (and still paying his wages). However, if he's better than Pele then who am I to complain...
