Brendan Rodgers: Missing from Liverpool's clash with QPR with a virus

Rodgers was isolated from the squad and sent home along with the club's head of performance Glenn Driscoll and second-choice keeper Brad Jones.

First-team coaches Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh will be in charge of the team at Loftus Road with Hungarian keeper Peter Gulacsi likely to back up Jose Reina.

Liverpool's club doctor Zaf Iqbal said: "It was impossible for Brendan, Glen and Brad to attend the game.

"They are not fit to be at the match and any contact with the rest if the squad could cause the bug to spread to more of the playing staff."
