David Beckham: Set for full debut

The former England captain, who joined Carlo Ancelotti's side on a five-month contract last month, made his debut against the same opposition in Sunday's 2-0 league win.

Beckham set up the second goal and will be deployed as a defensive midfielder against a side expected to include former Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton once again.

"Yes, Beckham will start in the position of (suspended midfielder) Marco Verratti," Ancelotti told reporters.

"It's an important position. Beckham must help make the play and defensively have a good tactical position on the pitch - he will have the same things to do as Verratti.

"Can he still take corners and free-kicks? He has the quality to do so. He can play a whole match."
