Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez hit out at the penalty decision that provided the only goal of the game for Steaua Bucharest in a dour Europa League last 16 first leg.
m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
t the start of the season, after the RVP transfer, I confidently claimed that Arsenal would finish above United. I now regret it immensely.
aniel Storey generally did very well, going against the City won it last year so they're bound to win it this time grain. As for John Nicholson, I wouldn't trust him to predict correctly what day of the week it will be tomorrow.

@Chelseablue_no1...just one thing, I believe the ref behind the goal is only there to judge on whether the ball crosses the goal line or not....UEFA's attempt to avoid the use of technology, but this is way there dont ever seem to do anything.

well Hump you are more confident than I (and this isn't me trying to soften the blow of any impending defeat). The players don't look confident in what they are being asked to do, they are probably wondering who they will be managed by next season and SAF has already had a pop at Rafa, which Rafa will no doubt be unable to resist responding to in his own clumsy flustered way. Can't see the players or the manager having their eye on the game or the prize. If he plays Ba and returns Azpilicueta to right back, Cahill and Ivanovic to CB and Luiz/Ramires and Lampard to DM behind Ocsar, Mata and Hazard then maybe, just maybe we stand a chance. I can see us waving United on to a nice double though.

Christ, I bet Fergie's crapping himself after that (latest) poor performance. I suppose it's all down to the small number of Chelsea fans who attended the match! "Rafa Benitez ..... it's never your fault"!!!!

I will say this Ted. I dont buy in to the guff about Man U ripping you apart this weekend as they will be scorned from the defeat. I reckon Fergie will have the team prepared, of course, but i foresee Chelsea giving them a match. Perhaps the Chelsea players should simply decide to disregard anything Rafa says as soon as they step on the pitch. We'll see, but i predict Man U's season will be all but obver come Monday. (I'm having 5 whole pounds on it)

It wasn't a penalty and it wasn't a clear goalscoring oppotunity either as the ball was heading away from goal at the time of the 'foul' hench the ref only giving a yellow card. Now from the tv I was watching on, the ref behind the goal didn't even signal anything, seemed more like the ref thought about it then decided to award the penalty. As to how Chelsea played last night, woeful, absolutely rubbish, but to be honest, even Steaua didn't look like they could score, so the only way they were going to score was via the ref.

I actually think he had a point. Stanger and Winterburn were very vocally pro Rafa and phrases such as "proper manager" were used. Chelsea fans were portrayed as somehow obtuse for not seeing this. Where are Winterburn and Stanger now when Rafa is serving up abject bumgravy every week?

Its laboured i'll admit, but he's clearly not enamoured at a piece she has written hence 'seeing as she's such an expert on a (her words) 'a proper manager'. The condescension is palpable. I'll concede to your point. Do you think that veiled dig was necessary Ted?
