Charles N'Zogbia in action against Bradford

Aston Villa midfielder Charles N'Zogbia is ready to keep working hard as he fights to regain his place in Paul Lambert's side.

The 26-year-old is hoping his efforts will earn him back his place this weekend as a relegation battle takes place at Villa Park against bottom club QPR.

N'Zogbia made a late appearance at the Madejski Stadium last weekend, after providing much improved form for Villa since returning from a knee injury in January.

Paul Lambert's surprising decision to drop the French international after starting 11 successive games has not shaken N'Zogbia's confidence and he backs his boss' decisions.

"That is the manager's choice and I have to accept that," N'Zogbia told the Birmingham Mail.

"I can't argue about what is best for the team. As long as I am involved and we have a good level of communication it is fine and so far he has been good."

"All I have to do is work hard in training. If I am not in the starting line-up I am not going to his office to say 'why am I not playing?' because the manager is in charge.

N'Zogbia added: "When I am on the pitch I will do my best for the team and make sure I take my chance when they come."

lassic management. Build them up and then knock them back. Raise expectations and then dampen them. Create a dynamic where by you demand the most from your team, but where the team are given room to manoeuvre unexpected or unwanted results. Classy work by Van Gaal, he really reminds me a lot of me. A smart cookie, make no doubt.
