Begs the question, why would Pardew tell his player that story?

Maybe Capello thought Pardew meant Ryan Taylor who is a midfielder? Doesn't excuse his ignorance but maybe his comment has been misinterpreted

@cozens no I go on Hodgson's opinion that he's good enough for England, ability is nothing if you don't give a s**t and attitude can make up for any holes in your ability. And anyway, I would rather watch someone try hard and fail than swan about with all the ability in the World and fail ala Wayne Rooney in the last World Cup.

@cozens - are you jealous that Taylor is getting a chance or been called up? If he was that sh*t then I am sure a defender from the championship would have been called up instead if he was that sh*t. You cant judge a player until you see him play for England and see if he was good or not, regardless of who they play.

Taylor S***t!!! Unbelievable, watching him week in week out I think this call up is long overdue. The only issue has been his injury record over the last few seasons. I can only assume those declaring him to be S***t are the arm chair glory seeking supporters that we all know and love. Passionate player for his club and England will be lucky to have him.

@cozens don't offer an opinion on a player you quite clearly know nothing about. I've seen Taylor in pretty much every game since he came back from injury and he's been magnificent.

@robbie1983. relative to Intl football. Taylor is s**t. Rio with half a mind on tweeting his latest inane b.s. would still do more than Taylor on his best day. Mind you, that said. its only San Marino. I hardly think he'll be troubled too much.

cozens, after doing all that Lionel Messi would probably be sh*t at football too!

jimbobbarker, I get your point but the situations are totally different. Rio is coming near the end of his playing career and has already played for England at all levels. He's also realistically competing for the Premier League title and playing Champion's League football every season. I wouldn't mind betting that Rio would have said similar things about playing for England when he was a lad at West Ham.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
