Jose Mourinho: Will decide on his Real Madrid future in the summer

Mourinho has a contract with Madrid until 2016 but there has been almost constant speculation about whether he will continue at the Bernabeu next season.

The Portuguese was again asked about his future following Tuesday night's Champions League quarter-final success over Galatasaray, and the former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss said he will speak with Real president Florentino Perez this summer.

"When the season ends I will sit down with who I have to sit down with, who as well as being the president is also my friend and is the legal and emotional representative of all Real Madrid fans," he said.

"We will sit down quietly and talk about my future, like two friends."

If Mourinho does decide to leave Madrid this summer he could do so on the back of a double trophy success. Madrid are already through to the final of the Copa del Rey, where they face Atletico Madrid and they sealed their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 5-3 aggregate triumph over Galatasaray.

It was tougher than many had expected, especially after Madrid had gone 4-0 up overall with Cristiano Ronaldo's early goal in the second leg in Turkey, but their dream of a 10th European Cup title this season remains intact.

Mourinho said: "I've not had time to stop and think if I was worried or not, but when I was forced to make changes and close up the space I knew the situation was tough.

"I put (Raul) Albiol in front of the defence and there were 10 dangerous minutes before things calmed down."

He added: "I'm happy about qualifying. I would like to play at this ground every match, everyone wants to play in atmospheres like this, it is perfect for football and I don't think the Real Madrid players used it. The Galatasaray players did. They had a fantastic second half, played with pride and all that is good about football.

"We could have done better, but I'm happy for Galatasaray's players and the coach, who went out there in the best way possible."

Madrid have now reached the last four of the Champions League in each of Mourinho's three seasons in charge, having previously been knocked out at the last-16 stage in six successive seasons.

Standing in the way of Madrid and a first final appearance since 2002 are some of Europe's top sides, with Borussia Dortmund also through to the last four and Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain hoping to join them.

Looking ahead to Friday's draw, Mourinho said: "The draw doesn't mean much as Borussia will be there and probably Barcelona and Bayern, three top teams who are among the best in Europe.

"They (semi-finals) will be two big games to enjoy and give everything in.

"I prefer to play against my friends. I have those in Paris and not in Barcelona. (However) the semi-finals are not the objective of the club and I know that."

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
