Johnny Russell: Understood to be on the radar of Serie A club Catania

Russell has produced a series of impressive performances for United in the SPL over the past couple of seasons to reportedly attract the attention of numerous clubs.

He remains under contract at Tannadice for another year and is a key member of Jackie McNamara's squad.

However, it is understood that Italian club Catania are ready to test United's resolve after identifying Russell as somebody who could bolster their attacking options.

Catania are currently ninth in Serie A after a solid campaign and will be hoping to push on next term.

Russell, who has been sidelined for the past few weeks with a broken fibula, came through the youth ranks with United before making his senior debut in 2007.
