Jobi McAnuff: Insists there is still plenty to play for

The beleaguered Berkshire side could have their relegation from the Premier league confirmed on Monday night if Aston Villa win at Old Trafford.

However, should the Villans fail to pull off a shock result against champions-elect Manchester United, McAnuff and co still need to win their remaining four fixtures, and hope results go their way to have any chance of a miraculous escape.

"We've got a few games to make the most of it, and try and dig in and get results," McAnuff told the Daily Mirror.

"We've all got our own pride and we don't want to finish bottom, that's for sure.

The former Watford midfielder knows that Nigel Adkins will be planning for his first full season in charge already, and challenged the Reading squad to prove they have what it takes.

"With a new manager coming in, we've all got to go again and prove that we are worthy of a place and fit into his plans," he added.

"He's got a way of doing things and a way of playing and we all have to play for our futures."
