Pellegrini's men will then face AmaZulu FC in Durban four days later on a two-match tour as part of the Nelson Mandela Football Invitational.

City chief executive Ferran Soriano said: "As well as competing in two games we have chosen Durban as our base for our training camp.

"It is an exciting time for the club as Manuel Pellegrini takes charge of the team for the first time."

Following their stay in South Africa, City will head to Hong Kong to compete in the bi-annual Premier League Asia Trophy alongside Sunderland and Tottenham.

City then take on AC Milan in the Audi Cup before completing their pre-season programme with a trip to Helsinki on August 10 to face Arsenal.
