The Spain midfielder was not expected back after an ankle injury before the next month's international break but tweeted: "I will be fit maybe in one week, I hope I can play at West Brom."

Cazorla, 28, has missed the Gunners' last four matches in all competitions due to the problem and, prior to possibly travelling to The Hawthorns, will miss the trip to Swansea on Saturday and hosting Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.

As well as Cazorla, manager Arsene Wenger is without Theo Walcott (stomach), Yaya Sanogo (back), Lukas Podolski (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby (both knee).

However, Mikel Arteta came through 95 minutes unscathed in Wednesday's Capital One Cup third-round tie with the Baggies, which the Gunners won 4-3 on penalties after it finished 1-1 after extra-time.

Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is also due back to training on Monday ahead of the visit of Rafael Benitez's Italian leaders to The Emirates the following day.

m not sure about this distance covered malarky, plus that stat comes with *since February attached to it, that's just 1 month. I mean I have 27 open cases I'm 'working on' at the moment but believe me others with 10 cases work harder than I do. I just got back from a pub lunch, scampi and chips (+4 pints) in case you were wondering.
