Lazar Markovic: No deal with Chelsea

The 18-year-old is one of the hottest properties in European football and Chelsea have long been linked with the youngster.

Markovic - who became a full Serbia international at just 17 - has over 40 first-team appearances to his name.

Reports had claimed that a near-£10million deal was agreed between Chelsea and Partizan, but Markovic insists that this is not the case.

However, he has confirmed he has just returned from England where he visited compatriot Branislav Ivanovic and even met with with 'people' from Chelsea.

"It is true. I was in London, I toured around London and I was also at Stamford Bridge," he told Sportski Zurnal.

"I met my team-mate from national team Branislav Ivanovic, we talked a little bit.

"I also met people from Chelsea, but it is not true that I have signed anything yet or something like that. There is no contract, not a even a pre-contract.

"I had a great time there but it is far from being over."
