Stephane Sessegnon: Prepared to play wherever he is required

The Benin international has often been deployed just behind lone frontman Steven Fletcher this season, with Martin O'Neill short on striking options.

He was then moved out to the flanks to form part of a 4-3-3 formation, with Adam Johnson joining him a support post.

O'Neill opted to keep Sessegnon on the wing when switching to 4-4-2 system for the final half-an-hour of a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out, with January arrival Danny Graham able to slot into the frontline.

Sessegnon claims he is prepared to play wherever he is required from this point on, with it important that Sunderland can tinker with their tactical approach when facing different opponents.

He told the Sunderland Echo: "When you're playing out wide, you have more of the chance to run with the ball and you have a bit more space in which to operate.

"It's somewhere where I haven't played regularly for a while, but I'm happy to stay there if the manager wants. He's the one who picks the team.

"It's true that the signing of Danny has given us more options and he's done well in his two appearances so far.

"Hopefully he can continue to do well for us, but it's a decision for the manager over how he uses Danny and Fletch."

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
