The Ivory Coast international was linked with a move to England's top division last summer and has been watched by several clubs.

Sunderland and Wigan are reported to be among the clubs who are tracking Konan and they have been given encouragement ahead of the next summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has scored five Bundesliga goals this season to help his club to seventh place along with three goals in the Europa League before being knocked out in the last 32 by Anzhi Makhachkala, has set his heart on playing in the Premier League.

Konan said:" I have always dreamt of playing in the Premier League but nothing has happened so far.

"I heard about teams interested through my representative in the UK but nothing has happened.

"I am here in Hanover. We are trying to finish the season strongly and see at the end of the season. We played in Europe this season and we want to do that again."
