The Holland international arrived at the Liberty Stadium on a season-long agreement from Villarreal in July 2012.
He had previously worked with Laudrup at Real Mallorca and that familiarity helped him to settle quickly in new surroundings.
De Guzman has impressed throughout his debut Premier League campaign, and also netted twice in the Swans' Capital One Cup final victory over Bradford City.
It is expected that a move to bring him on board full-time will be made once the season comes to a close, and Laudrup is convinced that the 25-year-old midfielder wants to stay.
He told the club's official website: "It's always difficult to say what's going to happen.
"A lot of clubs are thinking about the end of the season - promotion, relegation etc so they have a lot of important things to think about.
"Jonathan is playing very well and he's scoring goals. But he is happy here and I know he wants to stay here."
