Luis Suarez: Liverpool must stop Gareth Bale

Suarez and Bale have been so important to their respective teams - each scoring 15 in their last 15 games - that both the Reds and Spurs have been labelled 'one-man teams' at times this season.

The Uruguayan forward has done little to put an end to that talk by claiming stopping Bale is the key to beating Tottenham.

"Messi and Ronaldo may be playing in another dimension but Gareth has all it takes to play at the highest level," said Suarez, quoted in The Sun.

"He is one of the Premier League's players of the season and is in magnificent form. He is unquestionably the key for Spurs.

"We need to stop him to avoid problems in our penalty area. We're not obsessed with Gareth but he's the one to stop, not just because of his goals but because of all his assists for team-mates."

Europe

Suarez himself has been a significant player for Liverpool this season but the man himself believes he could have done even better - and has not given up on Europe.

"I've analysed our matches and should have scored more often," added Suarez.

"I watch videos at home, studying goalkeepers and rival defenders in a bid to improve my performance.

"The game with Spurs should be sensational - one of the games of the season. From now on every match is like a final for us.

"We are 10 points off Chelsea - who hold the final Champions League spot - and need three points in the race for the Europa League.

"Tottenham's win over Inter Milan will have boosted their morale but we are confident.

"We have improved so much in the last few months and are now close to the team everyone desires.

"We must get into Europe. Our challenge was the Champions League but we must not miss out on the Europa League."
