Bougherra spent the early part of his career in England playing for Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield Wednesday in the Football League, before signing for £2.5million at Charlton Athletic during their time in the Premier League.
The Algeria international has been linked with a move to Marseille, as a possible replacement for Souleymane Diawara, but claims his priority will always be to play in England again.
"I would love to return to Europe," former Rangers man Bougherra admitted.
"I have a contract in Lekwiya until 2015, but if there is an opportunity to return to Europe, England will be my priority.
"I love English football and I already have some clubs interested in me. I would love to play there again."
