Nigel Adkins: Focus is on Arsenal

The Royals have eight games remaining, the first of which is against Arsenal on Saturday, and that match has been the centre of Adkins' attention since his appointment on Tuesday.

"The important thing is we take it one game at a time without setting a points total," he said. "It's a great challenge and one we are relishing.

"The next game is the most important. I know where people are coming from with Southampton which is the following game and I'm sure there will be a lot of talk about that.

"But I've just been appointed by Reading and it's important we're respectful of that and take it one game at a time.

"We will put all our energy into the Arsenal game and do everything we can to win it."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
