Steve Sidwell: Fulham midfielder must serve a three-match ban

Sidwell was dismissed for serious foul play during his side's 3-2 home victory over Queens Park Rangers and an Independent Regulatory Commission upheld the red card shown by Phil Dowd.

The player's three-match suspension will commence with immediate effect and rules him out of the trips to Newcastle and Aston Villa as well as the west London derby against a second of his former employers Chelsea.

Sidwell was sent off with 12 minutes left of the Monday Night Football encounter for a lunge on Armand Traore, which later forced the QPR left-back off.
