Yoan Gouffran: Celebrates his goal against West Brom

The Frenchman scored Newcastle's only goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion but afterwards his thoughts were still very much on the defeat to Sunderland at St James' Park the week before.

Gouffran said: "Even though I am, obviously, not from Newcastle, I still understood the importance of the derby. It's an historic fixture.

"The fact Sunderland have started picking up points doesn't really affect us.

"It would be great to finish above them. We don't really pay much attention to them but it would be sweet for the fans."

Newcastle's next game is on Saturday against Liverpool where they will be looking to build on the point they earned at The Hawthorns at the weekend.

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
