The Chelsea defender sustained the injury in a collision with his Brazilian team-mate Thiago Silva during their 2-0 victory over Mexico.

However, the 26-year-old expects to be available for Brazil's remaining matches in the tournament, which ends on June 30.

He faces an operation in early July and Luiz told Chelsea's official website: "Yes, my nose is broken, but that's part of the game.

"Now I'll have to wait until the end of the competition and undergo surgery to fix it."
