Mathieu Flamini: Is delighted to be back playing for Arsenal

The French ace played for the Gunners for four seasons until 2008 before moving to Italian giants AC Milan.

After an absence of five years, he jumped at the chance of being reunited with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and made his second debut for the club as a substitute in Sunday's 1-0 derby success over Spurs.

Flamini told the club's official website: "I really have the sensation of being back home. Playing against Tottenham in a big derby, it was a great emotion, a great feeling.

"Playing against Tottenham is never easy but it is special for the club, for the fans and for the players. Of course, for me it was my first game and I wanted to show everyone how committed I am to this club, how I am ready to give everything on the pitch. I hope everyone saw it, I really did my best when I came on.

Never left

"I feel like I never left. There are players I played with before, and even staff, there are a lot of people still here that I knew before and the (relationship) with the fans was just amazing. I just want to thank everyone for the nice atmosphere on Sunday. It was great."

After spending time with his new team-mates, the 29-year-old believes the quality and spirit is high amongst the squad.

"The quality is very high in this team and at this club," he said. "That is the most important thing, to have players of quality because that makes a difference.

"The team spirit is also very good, and we saw on Sunday that everyone was helping each other on the pitch. That makes a difference in the big games."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
