Saido Berahino: Could end up staying at West Brom this season

Berahino has been loaned out to the likes of Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough in the past to help continue his development with regular first-team football.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to the season for club and country, following up his hat-trick against Newport in the Capital One Cup with two goals for England's Under 21s against Moldova and Finland.

Bolton have been linked with a move for Berahino, but Clarke is keen to manage his fitness with the striker having spent seven months on the sidelines last season with a knee injury.

"He's part of my squad," said Clarke. "We have to be careful with Saido. He's been out for seven months but came back and had a good pre-season.

"He had a great night with the Capital One Cup and two really good nights with the Under 21s, so he's in a great place.

"My job is to manage him and make sure that in six months' time he's still in that great place and can make contributions to whatever club he is at.

"I want to keep him involved and make sure physically he's okay."

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
