Jonny Evans: Relishing prospect of three games in eight days

The league leaders take on Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday and then travel to Spain to take on Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday before a home FA Cup tie against Reading on Monday 8 February.

The three fixtures could go a long way to defining United's season and Evans feels the glut of games will keep his side focused.

"It is better to be involved in every competition," said the 25-year-old Northern Ireland defender. "Sometimes mentally, if you have a game and then don't have another one for a week, you switch off.

"When the games are coming thick and fast, you don't get a chance. You are constantly engrossed. As far as I am concerned, the more games the better."

United fared well during the busy Christmas schedule and Evans is again backing manager Sir Alex Ferguson to rotate the squad successfully.

"We came through Christmas brilliantly," said Evans. "The manager is able to rotate the squad because he has confidence in the players. It means they don't feel as though they are fatiguing and are always mentally prepared."
