The highly-rated Dutch coach has long-since been established as a key member of Ferguson's coaching staff but accepts incoming manager David Moyes may want his own backroom team around him.

Meulensteen's existing deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season and there are talks to thrash out his future planned for the summer.

"I still have a contract for next year, but we have discussed in the club that we would sit down and brainstorm about my position the day Alex would decide to leave," Meulensteen told De Telegraaf.

"And that is the case now. My future at United is, for me, not clear at this moment. I don't know how things will work out for me now.

"I am uncertain about the future. The next few weeks will tell me a lot more."

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
