Oriol Romeu: Has made just four appearances for Chelsea this season and has been

The defensive midfielder has made just four appearances for the Stamford Bridge club this season, with two of those outings coming in the Capital One Cup.

Romeu's limited opportunities have led to speculation he could be loaned or sold in the winter transfer window amid reports of the summer 2011 signing from Barcelona returning to Spain.

Di Matteo has confirmed there is interest in the 21-year-old but, with John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses set for African Cup of Nations duty in early 2013, Chelsea need a large squad.

"Romeu is a very young talent with good prospects for the future," said manager Di Matteo. "He has offers from other clubs and especially from Spain but I have had calls from Italy as well.

"But he has been playing a bit more lately and he will be playing more in the future. There is absolutely no chance of him leaving in January."
