Frank Lampard: Harry Redknapp dismissed talk linking QPR with the Chelsea midfie

Lampard's long-term future at Chelsea has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with the England man out of contract in the summer.

Chelsea interim boss Rafa Benitez fuelled speculation about Lampard's future by recently suggesting the 34-year-old would be leaving Stamford Bridge.

Redknapp, who is Lampard's uncle, has dismissed talk of a possible bid to bring the midfielder to Loftus Road in January.

"Yeah, Frank's really keen to leave Chelsea," joked Redknapp. "Frank's always wanted to play for QPR. He's not interested about playing Champions League or winning it again this year."

The Hoops boss refused to rule out a move for Marseille striker Loic Remy, but conceded any deal could prove expensive.

Redknapp has been a long-term admirer of Remy having tried to sign him when he was in charge of Tottenham and he admits their position in the league will decide whether or not they move for the Frenchman in January.

"I was interested in Remy at Tottenham but that was then. It's a different situation now. He would be expensive," admitted Redknapp.

"It all depends where we are in January. It depends how we are going."
