The highly-rated defender first made the move to Holland in February 2012, agreeing a deal which is due to run until the close of the 2012/13 campaign.
Omeruo has impressed during his time in the Eredivisie, while regular first team football has significantly aided his development.
He has also earned senior international recognition during his time with Den Haag, with Nigeria offering him his debut in a meeting with Cape Verde.
Omeruo will be due back at Stamford Bridge over the summer but, with Chelsea well-stocked at the back right now, Den Haag hope another loan agreement can be put in place.
"We will inform Chelsea that we want to continue with the loan deal," Den Haag's general director Cees Driebergen told AD/Haagsche Courant.
"We expect a decision to be made in May. It is up to Chelsea."
