Chelsea have announced they will play matches in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia on their 2013 pre-season tour.

Rafael Benitez: Interim Chelsea boss whose contract expires at the end of the se

The team toured Asia in 2011 ahead of the season in which they claimed the European Cup for the first time and the FA Cup.

The tour will see Chelsea play a Singha Thailand All-Star XI in the Singha Cup in Bangkok on July 17 before a clash with a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur four days later.

The Blues then face an Indonesian X1 at Jakarta's 88,000-seater Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on July 25.

Chief executive Ron Gourlay told the club's official website: "It is fantastic that we will be returning to Asia for what promises to be an excellent pre-season tour.

"South-east Asia remains home to an ever-growing and passionate Chelsea FC support and it gives me great pleasure that we will again be able to experience that wonderful hospitality.

"In particular I look forward to visiting Indonesia for the first time, a country where we have an extensive fan base that is eager to see Chelsea play.

"I am sure we will face strong opposition in packed stadiums as we celebrate the successes of some of our important regional partners, and we will once again leave an important legacy in terms of the community work we conduct during the tour and for long afterwards."

It is unknown who will be managing the side during their tour, with Rafael Benitez's contract as interim boss ending at the close of the current season.
