Cesar Azpilicueta: Made his Spain debut in midweek

The Blues defender played the entire 90 minutes while Malaga starlet Isco and Atletico de Madrid's Mario Suarez also made their first appearances for La Furia Roja.

"All of them are players that strengthen our squad," Del Bosque said after the encounter.

"They adapted well to the group and without problems. They have all done what they had to do and showed the characteristics that made us choose them in the first place."

Spain face Finland and France in their next World Cup qualifiers and Del Bosque was pleased to have the chance to bring his players together for friendly.

"We did not play two and a half months ago [during the last international break] and that left us with six months between our last game and the Finland match," he continued.

"It was necessary to make contact face to face to prepare for the game against Finland and France.

"We started to prepare from now for the games, whcih are two very testing encounters."
