Petr Cech: Remarkable save helped Chelsea into the FA Cup semi-finals

The Blues made their way into the semi-finals on Monday with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.

Cech starred at Stamford Bridge, with a remarkable second-half save to deny Javier Hernandez proving to be as important as Demba Ba's spectacular winner.

It has not been the easiest of seasons for those charged with the task of generating results at Chelsea, but they remain in the hunt for two pieces of silverware and a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Cech is adamant that confidence within the camp remains high and claims a Wembley date with City - who are also fighting to salvage something from a frustrating campaign - is something to look forward to.

He posted on his personal website: "We are all looking forward to it as it's going to be another big game.

"It's not going to be easy, but whoever wants to win the FA Cup will have to beat the best teams along the way.

"It doesn't matter if we face City now or if we met them in the final."

Difficult

On his sprawling stop which saw a close-range header from Hernandez turned over the crossbar, Cech added: "I can say that really was one of the best saves of my career.

"I knew Hernandez was waiting at the far post and I jumped there to cover as much space as possible.

"I was ready for the possibility of the ball flying wide and at the last moment I pumped my left hand upwards. It was very difficult.

"Hernandez then came to me and asked how that was possible."
