John Terry: Remains fully committed to Chelsea

The experienced centre-half has slipped in and out of the Blues starting XI since suffering a serious knee injury in November.

It has been suggested that his days at Stamford Bridge could be numbered, with younger options currently being favoured by interim coach Rafa Benitez.

Terry, who has spent his entire career on Chelsea's books, is, however, paying little attention to the rumours and claims to be fully committed to the Blues cause.

He told Sky Sports News HD: "On the pitch, I had a terrible injury - that sort of set me back a little bit. I was keen to come back from the Euros and continue with my football, and unfortunately with the injury that hasn't been the case and I've been in and out of the side.

"It's not an ideal situation for me but, at the same time, I understand that if other players are playing well around me, I keep my head.

"People have to realise that I've got a year left at Chelsea after this. People have spoken about no new contract and this kind of thing, but it's not even on the agenda at the moment.

"They may sit down with me once the season has finished and we'll start talking then. Whether it's a yes or a no I'll continue to give my very best until my contract finishes at Chelsea."

Focus

He added: "The injury set me back because it was a long time out. Initially it looked like I might be out for three or four weeks only, and after that it became three or four months in the end.

"I have had to focus, dig deep and do a lot of sessions on my own in the gym - which was tough and new to me because it's the first long injury that I've had. But I'm fit and I'm well now and that's the main thing.

"I will continue to do everything I can possible, whether I play or don't play, to move this football club in the direction that we want to be."

PSG were probably not interested and he is stuck with no cake and no vacation. @Jay_D> Surely you jest about FFP being real, right? All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
