It has been a tough season for the Spaniard, who has faced criticism from sections of the Chelsea crowd, despite securing a top-four finish and silverware.
Cech told Sky Sports: "He deserves it because he has worked so hard ever since he arrived at the club.
"His aim was to improve, work hard and try to win things. In the end we were all on the same board and we managed to win the trophy. Credit goes to everyone."
Benitez will take charge of his final game as interim Chelsea manager this Sunday against Everton and is then tipped to be replaced by Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.
Cech says the Portuguese is still highly regarded by everyone at the club and would be welcomed back should he decide to return.
The goalkeeper added: "We do not know anything. I am hearing it and there is a big probability it could be Jose.
"He has a fantastic history with the club the supporters and everyone loves him."
