Chelsea skipper John Terry claims Jose Mourinho's return as manager has provided a major boost to everyone at Stamford Bridge.

Terry made his comments in the match programme for the Premier League opener against promoted Hull City.

"Jose coming back in as manager has given us all a huge lift," Terry said.

"He created a team that brought great success to Chelsea, after we had gone so long without a league title, and it's great to have him back."

Meanwhile, Mourinho eulogised about Chelsea in the same magazine as he prepared for his second stint in west London.

The Portuguese said: "I am at home again; I am where I want to be again; I am, once again, in a club that is much more than my club - it is also a passion."

And Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich made reference to his 10 years with the Blues in a rare statement on the front cover.

"We have had a great decade together and the club could not have achieved it all without you. Thanks for your support, here's to many more years of success," Abramovich said.
