Juan Mata: No intention of leaving Stamford Bridge

Juan Mata: No intention of leaving Stamford Bridge

The Spain international's future has been the subject of speculation since Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer.

Mourinho has consistently denied reports he is willing to sell Mata - Chelsea's player of the year last season - but the signing of Andre Schurrle and the imminent arrival of Willian have left the club with a glut of attacking midfielders.

And Mata did not start the first game of the new Mourinho era, prompting renewed rumours he could be moving on.

But Sky sources understand that, while Tottenham did show an interest in the player, there has been no formal offer from White Hart Lane or anywhere else.

And Mata, for his part, is understood to have no intention of leaving.
