Jose Mourinho: Won't bring in a striker in January

Mourinho is expected to freshen up his squad in the transfer window as he targets silverware this season and speculation suggested he was planning a swoop for Porto striker Jackson Martinez.

But the Portuguese coach dismissed the claims and says he is satisfied with his current forward options of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba.

"It's not true what I read a couple of days ago, that the agent was in London and was meeting with me or Chelsea directors. It's not true at all," he said.

"In the January market we are not going to buy any striker. We will go to the end of the season with Fernando, with Samuel and with Demba. Nobody to go in, nobody to go out."

Ashley Cole's absence in recent weeks, with Spain right-back Cesar Azpilicueta preferred at left-back, has led to speculation about his future and the possible arrival of Portugal international Coentrao.

But Cole remains an important part of Mourinho's plans and he will soon return to action.

"Now is the time for the squad," said Mourinho.

"And now is the time for everybody to feel that they have a chance, when we play now Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday - Southampton, Sunderland and Stoke.

"The S-S-S week, everybody will have a chance.

"Ash will play for sure and will have the chance to show that he's fine," he added.

When asked about Coentrao, he said: "I don't want Portuguese players.

"I always had them, but I think in this moment it's enough. Only Hilario is the remaining one and we don't need (others)."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
