Andre Schurrle says it is Chelsea's poor results against some of the teams in the bottom half that will cost them the title this season.

Andre Schurrle: Says Chelsea have let themselves down against some of the lower

Jose Mourinho's men have done the double over Manchester City and Liverpool this term, whilst staying unbeaten against Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, they have dropped 17 points against sides in the bottom half and have suffered shock defeats against Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland since the start of March.

A goalless draw at home to Norwich City on Sunday effectively extinguished their hopes of becoming champions, and Schurrle is disappointed with the lack of consistency.

"We played very well against the big teams, but at home you have to win against sides like Sunderland and Norwich," he said in the Daily Mirror.

"We didn't do that and that's why we won't win the league this year.

"We had a chance, it was only a little chance, but we wanted to win against Norwich so that we were still involved on the last day because you never know what can happen.

"We're disappointed, it was our last match at home and, with a win, we still had hopes for the title. Now we are third and we'll probably stay there."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
