Throughout an illustrious career at Anfield, Gerrard has been fortunate enough to work with a number of world-class finishers, including the likes of Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Fernando Torres.

At international level, the 32-year-old has lined up in the same side as two of England's leading marksmen of all-time - Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney.

It is, however, Suarez who gets Gerrard's vote as the most complete forward he has had the privilege of working with.

The England skipper told a question and answer session on Twitter that Suarez is also the most likely to mess around in training. "He's a nuisance!" he said.

When asked which player he would most like to bring back to Liverpool if given the opportunity, Gerrard said: "Xabi Alonso - best midfielder I've played with, I miss playing with him."

Gerrard went on to name David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Steve McManaman in his dream England midfield.

And when pressed on whether he would like to remain in football when the day comes to hang up his boots, a man who made his 600th appearance for Liverpool on Sunday said: "I hope so, I'd like to stay involved in the club for a long time."

m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
