Andre Wisdom: The defender knows Liverpool's players must respect Brendan Ro

The defender could be considered among the fringe players accused of being 'too soft' after their embarrassing FA Cup upset at the hands of Oldham Athletic last week.

It was a significant put down from Rodgers but Wisdom, who started at Boundary Park and then again at Arsenal in midweek, knows the cup performance was not good enough.

"The manager has been singing our praises so we have to respect what he says, even if it is not complimentary," said Wisdom in The Times.

"We all know when we have played well or not and we did not do ourselves justice at Oldham, so we have to take the result and the manager's criticism on the chin.

"Everyone takes defeat differently but, in this case, I think I can speak on behalf of everyone at the club by saying none of us were happy.

"We do not like to lose any game. We take every game seriously, whether it is Oldham or Manchester United.

"But now we have to put this one behind us and look forward."
