Brendan Rodgers: Linked with a move for Aly Cissokho

Reports in Spain suggest he is lining up a move for Valencia's Aly Cissokho on a season-long loan deal to provide cover for first-choice left-back Jose Enrique.

Rodgers tried Glen Johnson and Andre Wisdom in the position last season before restoring Enrique, who impressed over the second half of the campaign.

"There are obviously certain areas of the squad where we're a bit thinner than others," he said.

"We probably need a bit more support - that extra bit of quality - at the top end of the field and that's something we'll look out for.

"That'll be mixed with needing cover in the left-back position - that's something we're looking at. It's not really about numbers, it's about quality.

"If we can do that over the next number of weeks we'll be happy."

Rodgers also admitted that a deal to send goalkeeper Jose Reina on loan to Napoli, managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez, has yet to be finalised.

"The latest was that there was an offer to take him on loan but that's something that hasn't been discussed any further," said Rodgers, who recently signed Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in a £9m deal.

I

s it the same people that complain about Chelsea that complain about Mayweather? You should by now know what to expect from both, if you can't appreciate how good they are at nullifying their opponents then don't watch them.

I

do concede though, that getting rid of Luiz has made them less entertaining. In the same way that driving with both eyes open is less exciting, but probably a good idea.
